Visitors rarely convert on the first visit. Designing for the whole journey is what turns traffic into revenue.
It is tempting to judge advertising by what happens in a single session. In reality, most people research, compare and return several times before they buy or enquire. The journey — not the click — is the unit that matters.
Map the journey
Write down the realistic steps someone takes from first hearing about you to becoming a customer. For each step, note the question they are asking and whether your ads, pages and follow-up answer it.
Design for return visits
- Remarketing that adds new information instead of repeating the same ad.
- Content that helps people compare options honestly.
- Email or messaging sequences for people who are not ready yet.
- Clear ways to pick up where they left off.
When every stage has a job and a measure, you can see exactly where people drop off — and fix that stage instead of guessing.
